Based on our belief that art and sports are able to reduce violence in society and is the best way to deliver morals and values, Fekra was pleased to organize the following:
Sportive Campus is a creative way to reduce violence in Society and promote high morals towards a healthy community. We teach through our camps critical ethics and values like; Peace Building, Citizenship, Accepting others, Team Building, Leadership. Fekra Association could serve hundreds of youth in Asyut city and villages, through implementing such camps with local and international bodies, in addition to public and private schools for example and not limited to: Asyut Governor Office for Women Affairs, Synod of the Nile through “Salam private Modern School”, Save The Children, Plan Egypt and the Ministry of Education, which deliver some needed values and morals in society to every youngster or child.
Out of the deep belief that arts reduce violence in society, developing minds and support realizing the real personal identity. Fekra has lunched Pianola project, with the support of Etijah foundation as part of Pioneers Egypt program. Pianola aimed to train Asyut’s youth on film production and theatre, in addition to raising the awareness of the importance and the effect of arts in our society. Through 5 training courses (Direction, Script Writing, Videography, production management and acting), Fekra has started the project where participants has been trained for the first stage, then after producing 3 short films a group of them has been selected for the second level advanced training which has been implemented with the cooperation of Fig Leaf film production studios, that equipped participants with an advanced level of film production and supported them in producing 3 more short films for the final competition.
That’s in addition to implementing another training session about the theatre of the oppressed with the cooperation of Eskendrela team for arts management. After the training participants visited 4 governmental schools to implement an oppressed theatre play for teenagers as a practical training where they discussed one of the society problems through the play.
Wamda project target refugees youth in the age between 14 to 18 years, with the aim of supporting them through sportive camps which teaches fundamental morals, trainings and counselling session that support and empower them emotionally, in addition to supporting them economically through career development trainings and internships.
