As sharing became a global concept. Fekra adopted the idea of Share project. Share is a safe platform, where youth could share their experiences and knowledge. Through Share project youth were the trainers and the trainees, the leaders and followers, the recipients and organizers for every event. In the first place, it worked on deepening the confidence of youth in their abilities of developing, management and leading. In addition to enable youth to share their various talents, “singing, poetry, photography and others”.
Barah was one of our interesting projects that targeted youth from 14-19 years old for eight days. Through these days they were trained on Team work, leadership and presentation skills, self-awareness, know their type of leadership, gained some communication skills, emotional intelligence and future planning, knew about the importance of values. In addition to some computer skills; they learned how to work on Adobe premiere and Photoshop programs in order to create at the end two projects that address one of their own problems. After the training, trainees were willing to make difference in their society and gain more experience, so Fekra Association encouraged them to start Barah team, which aimed to serving their peers and transfer what they have learnt through media channels and field visits.
Fekra have a considerable access to youth; we had 50 volunteers of university students and fresh graduates. We help them to develop their own skills through different kinds of trainings; Interpersonal Skills, English courses, TOT, Fundraising and other trainings. Fekra tried to provide them with the professional training and safe platform where they can gain practical experience in an environment resembles working environment. For instance; they could have the chance to implement and organize big events, sportive camps, train newcomers and give us a hand in administrative process.
In cooperation with Asyut Governor Office for Women Affairs, The Ministry of Education, and Synod of the Nile “Salam Modern private school”. Fekra organized a series of training programs in preparatory and secondary schools, for teachers and students, whether in city or villages. Fekra’s Team visited schools to work on building the school capacity in two scales, firstly developing students, through Interpersonal skills trainings, in addition to career guidance, which may support youth in the last year of the secondary school to choose the right colleges. Second scale is supporting teachers, and training them on how to improve their capacity of delivering lessons in very new and creative ways, in addition to train them on how to build good work environment and work as a team to face the huge challenges that they have in schools.
